Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional / body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of challenging symptoms. Discovered in 2003 by David Grand, Ph.D, now over 13,000 therapists have completed Brainspotting training worldwide.
Brainspotting in consultation can be used as a stand-alone technique or also in conjunction with hypnotherapy. This can be also discussed in the intial consultation.

Where we look affects how we feel
BSP makes use of this natural phenomenon through its use of relevant eye positions. This helps the BSP therapist to locate, focus, process and release a wide range of emotionally and bodily-based conditions. BSP is also a brain-based tool to support the therapy relationship.
We believe that BSP taps into and harnesses the body’s natural self-scanning, self-healing ability. When a Brainspot is stimulated, the deep brain appears to reflexively signal the therapist that the source of the problem has been found. The therapist can then work with you to process past trauma blocks and help you move on. Not only is Brainspotting very suitable for working with trauma and post-traumatic stress, but it is also useful in performance-enhancing (such as for exams, or sports), or simply to release anxiety and stress.

Additional Benefits of BSP:
- Can be used to find and strengthen our natural resources and resilience
- Designed as a therapeutic tool, BSP can be integrated into many of the healing modalities
- The phenomenology and neurobiology that underpin BSP consolidate approaches to therapy, supervision, and consultation
- Can be used with performance and creativity enhancement
